Twenty two years of bookkeeping and tax preparation. Long enough that I have seen what a good set of books does for a business and what a bad set does to one.
I learned this work inside large corporations, where the standard is high because it has to be and nobody thanks you for it. Clean reconciliations. Real deadlines. A file that survives being looked at. That is the training I have, and it is the training most small businesses never get access to, because the firms that do it that way charge accordingly.
So I do it that way, for people who could not otherwise afford it. That is the whole business.

Why I left the big rooms
In a large company your work is one column of a very long spreadsheet. It matters, but it does not change anybody's day.
Here it does. When I catch a duplicate deposit for a contractor in Newberry, that is his week. When somebody who has been dreading their books for two years finally sends them and I tell them the truth about how bad it is, and then fix it, that is a thing that actually changes how they sleep.
No job is too big or too small. That is not a slogan I picked. It is just the shape of the work.
What I will tell you that others will not
This part matters more than my resume.

If your books are worse than you said
I will tell you at the first look, with a number, not after three months of invoices. You can decide what to do with that. You should not have to find out slowly.

If you do not need me
Some people call me who need an hour of setup help and a good habit, not a monthly bookkeeper. I say so. I would rather lose the retainer than take money for work that does not need doing.

If a question is past what I do
There are questions that belong to an attorney or to a specialist, and I will name that instead of guessing at it. You deserve an answer from the right person.

Not an estimate that moves. A number.

When you are about to do something expensive
If you are about to buy equipment, hire your first employee, or change how your business is structured, ask me before, not after. Before is free. After is a cleanup.

Where I am
High Springs, Florida. A small town in Alachua County with a river, a lot of springs, and about the right number of traffic lights.
I work with people here and in the towns around us, and I work with people in other states who I have never stood in a room with. Both of those work. The local ones get to hand me a folder. The remote ones get everything through the portal and a video call, and their books look exactly the same when I am done.
Twenty minutes, and nothing to prepare
Tell me what is going on with your books. A shoebox is fine. A spreadsheet is fine. Nothing at all is fine too.
